If your or your daughter are interested in Girl Guides and intend on coming to Agfest - this is the article for you!

Girl Guides Tasmania is spreading the word about what they’re all about, as well as selling more than the odd pack of biscuits at Tasmania’s biggest agricultural festival, Agfest.

Legana and Hagley group leader Jane Dent said the group for girls has had years of success because of four key points.

“We empower women to make a better world, to be self-sufficient, confident and self-reliant,” she said, adding that a chance to try something new is a big incentive for girls to join.

“Come along and most importantly have fun and enjoy it,” she said.

Ms Dent said girls between 5 and 18 could join as youth members.

"Any other women we will take as a volunteer and there are many roles available to them,” she said.

If you’re heading to Agfest and are interested in signing up, the Girl Guides Tasmania tent can be found at exhibitor site M50 on Main Street.
