Agfest 2022 Dates Announced

In 2022, Agfest will celebrate our 40th anniversary over a four big days 4 - 7 May and in the Cloud 7 - 13 May.

A successful Agfest Annual Meeting held in July saw a new Executive Committee elected for Agfest 2022.

We are excited to announce that Caine Evans was unanimously voted the Agfest Chairman for 2022. As well as delivering the event we know and love Mr Evans and his team plan to “engage and support younger members, ensuring the passion and knowledge is passed on to the next generation of volunteers so that Agfest will be able to be enjoyed for many years to come.”

Despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the staging of large-scale events, the Committee are determined to deliver another COVID-19 safe success. We understand the challenges this presents for all involved and we have listened to the feedback we received following the 2021 event. At this point, our plans are in full swing to deliver the 40th anniversary event with the following changes:

The event will run in the paddock for four days, from 4 -7 May;

  • A maximum of 15,000 patrons + event and exhibitor staff (subject to approval from Tasmanian Public Health), allowing for a total of up to 60,000 patrons over the four days;
  • New patron hours for event days (8am – 4 pm);
  • All tickets will be pre-sold with improved exhibitor ticketing;
  • Agfest in the Cloud will be activated at 12 noon on 7 May and will run until Friday 13 May;
  • Improved strategy for Quercus Tastes food vendors dispersing them to grouped areas around the site, to assist with crowd flow;
  • The Craft and Business & Lifestyle pavilions will be back in a new layout to encourage safer traffic flow; and
  • The new Tasmanian Hospitality Association (THA) feature located in the main pavilion on South Street incorporating vendors, careers expo, paddock to plate experience and refreshment centre.
Vice Chair, Caitlin Radford said “The whole committee are so excited to be back in 2022! We are continuing the brilliant work from last year’s committee. Caine, myself, and the whole team feel that we are in a strong position to push the event bigger than last year and to continually improve the experiences off all patrons, exhibitors and volunteers. There is something so incredibly special to be a part of this event and see the enjoyment that the whole state gets out of coming together to celebrate what we have to offer and of course stimulate our economy.”
