The 37th Agfest was officially opened today by Tasmania’s Governor Kate Warner.
Agfest is Tasmania’s biggest field day event, and the third biggest in the country. Her Excellency, the Governor noted the scope and variety of the exhibits in her opening address.
“You will see from the program quite an amazing variety of events, arts, food and drink", said the Governor.
“I think it’s no wonder that Agfest is attracting an increasing number of visitors. The quality of this three-day event is really unmatched”, she said.
With the upcoming federal election just around the corner, Prime Minister Scott Morrison took the opportunity to visit Agfest and show his support for Tasmania’s agricultural community, speaking at the opening alongside Her Excellency, the Governor.
