Bass view: timber furniture with a ‘wow’ factor

With handmade timber furniture, Lyle and Wendy Davis won the best small site award at Afgest 2024.

Those who passed by the corner of the Tenth Avenue with Main Street, couldn’t help to stop at Bass View Timber’s site. The appealing chairs and tables, the smell of fine wood, and the big smile of this couple were simply enchanting.

All of their products are hand-made, with creativity and hard work. “We make everything ourselves in our little workshop at home, there is no factories involved”, Lyle says.

This is the couple’s first year at Agfest, and Wendy says the experience has been fantastic so far. “We’ve had really good feedback about the site from the people coming through. Everyone is friendly and the weather is perfect”.

The secret to winning the best small site award, says Lyle, was in following Seedlab’s advice and displaying the furniture for everyone to see and try.
