Shark Tank celebrities make an appearance at Agfest

Five years after inventor Matt Harris’s appearance on Shark Tank Au, VegePod has made its first appearance at Agfest to get on the ground and speak with Tasmanian green thumbs.

“It’s very important for us to bring VegePod down here and come along to Agfest.

"Country people understand what we’re doing with growing veg, they understand the challenges with growing, and they’re good solid people,” says Vegepod representative at Agfest, Simon Holloway.

Since their appearance on the hit tv show Shark Tank, VegePod has expanded from supplying 150 garden centres, to over 220 stores in Australia and have launched to 18 other counties.

“We find coming to these shows allows us to keep our finger on the pulse with what people want, what they need, and how they’re using it,” Simon said.

The importance of community and local relationships looked to be a highlighted value of the VegePod brand and identity.

“We’re in schools, hospitals, prisons, aged care and disability, because gardening is for everyone. Us as part of our company, we want to be strongly connected in the community.” Said Simon.
