TasNetworks Empowers New Apprentices

The TasNetworks apprenticeship program is the pathway to a powerful career.

Energy provider TasNetworks are bolstering their existing apprenticeship program to cater for new talent.

Kylie Cashion from TasNetworks is excited about the new July intake which will accommodate ten new apprenticeships.

“We’re ramping up our apprentice program. Traditionally we’ve taken on a few apprentices, but now we’re trying to take a mid-year intake of ten apprentices,” said Ms Cashion.

The apprentices, who will be based all over the state, should have a safety and customer service focus, according to Ms Cashion.

“We’re looking for fresh young talent. We’d really love to see some ladies apply, we’re really trying to encourage a diverse workforce.”

In addition to new apprentices, Ms Cashion said that TasNetworks are also looking for ‘dual traders’ — qualified electricians who want to up-skill and become qualified lineworkers.

Applications for the program close on the 13th of May and TasNetworks are encouraging all sorts of people to apply.

“You could be a school leaver or you could be someone who really wants to reinvent your career,” Ms Cashion said.
