COVID-19 Denisty and Capacity Limits to be lifted midnight Friday

Today, the Tasmanian Government has announced the removal of density limits and the cap on patron numbers for events as of midnight this Friday. The Agfest Organising Committee welcomes today’s announcement as it will greatly assist planning for this year’s event. The removal of the daily 5000 patron cap proves the courageous decision to postpone Agfest until August was the correct one. The use of the Check in Tas App and masks will no longer be required at Agfest 2022 but perhaps more importantly for our stakeholders there will be no cap on patron numbers! However, for the health and safety of patrons, exhibitors, volunteers and event staff COVID Safe practices will still be encouraged and observed. Agfest Chairman Caine Evans said “This is the moment we have been waiting for. The removal of restrictions will mean after two hard years we will finally be able to present an Agfest as close to normal as possible. We encourage everyone to put Agfest 2022 in their calendars for 24 to 27 August and look forward to welcoming everyone to the paddock! We would encourage exhibitors who were hesitant to apply for the event due to the ongoing restrictions to reconsider and submit an application online for consideration We are looking forward to a safe and successful Agfest 2022.
