The University of Tasmania taking a different approach to connecting with the community

UTAS has created plenty of hands-on exhibits at Agfest 2022 to better connect with Tasmanians.

“The most exciting thing I think we’ve added in this year is our gaming lab, so our ICT students write commercially sold games that are available on some of the public domains like Nintendo,” says Manager of Engagement and events Belinda Brock.

Belinda says there are plenty of exhibits on offer run by passionate students.

“You can get involved in activities, everything from volcanoes, through to identifying animal skulls, right through to plant identification, and a bit of physics if that interests you,” she says.

“We’re keen to connect and inspire the community by the great research and work the university does here in Tasmania, both in the local community and the broader world,” she added.

Get involved with some Tasmanian-created video games and other exciting exhibits at site S25 at Pavilion 1.
